Your conversation, looked after.
It was your conversation, so it's your record. This page sets out, in plain words, where your conversation goes, who helps us run MyScribe, what we will never do, and the checks we complete before launch.
Last updated 24 October 2026. If anything here changes, we'll update this page and say what changed.
Our promises
Never sold
We don't sell your conversations, your summaries or anything about you. Not to advertisers, insurers, data brokers or anyone else.
Never used to train AI
Your conversations are used to write your summary and answer your questions. They are never used to train AI, by us or by anyone who helps us.
Audio deleted, words kept
The recording only exists long enough to be turned into words. You keep the words and your summary, stored encrypted in your account until you delete them.
Shared only by you
Your conversation isn't shared with your GP, the NHS, insurers or advertisers. The companies listed below handle it only to run MyScribe. Anyone else sees it only if you share it.
Where your conversation goes
From the moment you press record to the moment you share, step by step.
-
1
You ask, then record
MyScribe opens on the question, so everyone in the room knows. While you talk, the recording stays on your phone.
On your phone -
2
It's written down
When you press stop, the recording is sent securely to Deepgram, a speech-to-text company, to be turned into words. Deepgram works on it in memory and doesn't store it, and we've opted out of Deepgram using it to improve their models.
Deepgram, in the EU -
3
The audio is deleted
Once the words are saved, the recording is deleted from your phone. From here on, MyScribe works only with the words.
Audio gone -
4
The story is written
The words are sent to Google Cloud's Vertex AI to write your summary, and to find the exact words when you use Ask Your Conversation. Google doesn't use them to train its models.
Google Cloud, UK or EU region -
5
It's kept safely
Your words and summaries are stored encrypted in your account, until you delete them. Questions you ask with Ask Your Conversation aren't saved.
Google Cloud, London -
6
You choose who sees it
Share your summary with a daughter, a partner or whoever helps you. If you don't share it, it stays in your account.
Only the people you choose
This is how MyScribe works at launch. Behind the scenes, AI suppliers can change over time. If we ever change who helps us, or where your words are handled, we'll update this page first.
Who helps us run MyScribe
MyScribe is made by Opsimath Ltd. These are the companies that handle your information on our behalf, and only on our instructions.
| Company | What they do | What they handle | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deepgram | Turns your recording into words, and reads words aloud when you ask | The recording, and words to be read aloud | EU |
| Google CloudVertex AI | Writes your summary and finds the exact words for Ask Your Conversation | The words of your conversation | UK or EU |
| Google CloudFirestore | Stores your words and summaries, encrypted | Your saved conversations | UK (London) |
| Google FirebaseAuthentication | Lets you sign in | Your name, email address and how you sign in. Never your conversations | United States |
Your sign-in details are held by Google in the United States, protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires for transfers. Your conversations and summaries stay in the UK and EU.
What we will never do
- Sell your information, or share it for advertising
- Use your conversations to train AI
- Keep the recording of your appointment
- Pass your conversations to the NHS, your GP, insurers or any data platform. They only go where you send them
- Put advertising or tracking tools in the app
- Add anything to what was said. MyScribe doesn't diagnose, advise or recommend treatment
You're in control
Delete a conversation
Delete any conversation and its summary, whenever you like. It's gone from your account and our storage.
Delete your account
Delete your account from the app, and everything goes with it: your conversations, your summaries and your sign-in. Any unused credit is lost too, so use it up first if you can.
Change your mind
You agree to MyScribe handling your health information when you sign up. You can withdraw that agreement at any time in the app. If you do, your saved conversations are deleted, and you stay signed in with your account and any credit kept.
If you stop using MyScribe
If you don't sign in for 12 months, we close your account. We'll email you 30 days and 7 days before, showing your credit balance, and signing in keeps everything. Once an account is closed, its conversations are deleted within 45 days and any unused credit is lost.
Ask for a copy
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or to correct it, by emailing hello@hellomyscribe.com.
18 and over
MyScribe is for people aged 18 and over.
Checks and standards
What's in place now, what we complete before launch, and what we complete before MyScribe is used with any NHS organisation.
| Check | What it means | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Registered company | Opsimath Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17461745 | In place |
| Clear purpose | MyScribe is a memory aid. It writes down and summarises what was said, and doesn't diagnose, advise or recommend treatment, so it isn't a medical device | In place |
| Data protection impact assessment | A formal check of the risks to your information, and how we reduce them | Before launch |
| Information Commissioner's Office | Registration with the UK's data protection regulator. We'll add our registration number here | Before launch |
| Clinical safety (DCB0129) | The NHS clinical risk management standard for health software | Before NHS use |
| DTAC | The NHS Digital Technology Assessment Criteria, covering safety, data protection, security, usability and accessibility | Before NHS use |
Good questions
Can my GP or the NHS see my conversations?
No. MyScribe isn't connected to your GP record or to any NHS system. If you want your GP to see something, you can share it with them yourself.
Can MyScribe staff read my conversations?
We don't read your conversations. They're stored encrypted, and access is limited to keeping the service running safely, for example fixing a fault you've asked us to look at.
Why is AI involved at all?
AI turns the recording into words, writes the summary, and finds the exact words when you ask a question. Ask Your Conversation never writes its own answer. It only shows you what was actually said.
Why are my sign-in details held in the United States?
We use Google's sign-in service, which holds account details (your name, email address and how you sign in) in the United States. Your conversations and summaries are never held there.
Could any of this change?
If we ever need to change how your information is handled, we'll tell you first, and update this page, so you can take a copy or delete it before anything changes.
How do I raise a concern?
Email hello@hellomyscribe.com and we'll get back to you. If you're not happy with our answer, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
